Learning the Foundations

Research worldwide has now generated a substantial body of knowledge on how Research-Practice Partnerships are built and how they achieve their effects.

Since the early 2010s, Research-Practice Partnerships have grown considerably around the world. Research on these partnerships has also expanded rapidly, examining their priorities, goals, structures, conditions for success and effectiveness. At the DIPF, the BETTER research unit represents this field and has for several years been connected to a strong international network, with the aim of further developing this kind of research partnership in Germany as well.

In TransferForce, we draw on research findings and our own practical experience in a targeted and systematic way to support the foundations for a) the strategic development of partnerships, b) bi-directional dialogue within partnerships, c) co-constructive research and d) the dissemination of results into both practice and research. These foundations are taught through the following formats:

  • In-person sessions at the DIPF with theoretical input, interactive planning and application sessions, and peer consultation
  • Online sessions with international experts from our network who have many years of experience in successfully building Research-Practice Partnerships
  • Materials and resources for the strategic planning, implementation and analysis/evaluation of participants' own partnerships
